With a 5in OLED display operating at 220ppi. the VIta produces sharp, punchy pictures Movies (transferred from your PS3, PC, or downloaded from the PS Store) look lovely, but t he n:'al thrill is the gaming graphics - the four - core CPU and GPU make this a real powerhouse. All that oomph comes at the expense of battery life, though you'll get five hours max when gaming. The VIta is the first portable console with twin analogue sticks, and it's this that makes it the. perfect foil for home console- style games. It has almost all of the buttons
you'll find on your DualShock controller - only one pair of shoulder buttons is missing. We·d actually prefer proper triggers instead of those shoulder buttons, but they at least feel natural at the ends 01 your index fingers.

At first glance the Vita looks very much like the aged PSP but it has much more luxurious feel, and it's a fair whack bigger. Its rounded sides fit snug in both hands, too. Sony's always been a bugger for proprietary peripherals, and there's no change here. The USBI charge cable is a unique design, and rather than use SO cards for storage, you need a proprietary memory card. Many games require one, so ir s Pn:'tty unforgivable that they have to be bought separately, especially as they cost E18 for just 4GB and E45 for 16GB
