HP ENVY 17 3D - 2001XX
HP has a gaming machine? Well, not really. However that doesn't mean you can write off the HP Envy 17 just yet. This full aluminum notebook comes with the Envy-standard designer looks. But that isn't to say it's made for the girls, even though it's got an aesthetically pleasing floral dot-matrix design, We'd rather like to think it caters to everyone who enjoys a fantastic multimedia experience, Adding to the visuals is the fact that the metallic exterior is delightfully fingerprint-repellent. The Envy 17 also has an excellent display that gives consumers the best possible personal 3D experience, As a multimedia notebook, the HP Envy 17 has no equal, but as a gaming notebook, it's regretfully let down by a small track pad and mid-tier discrete graphics. However this also means it's a good all-rounder machine that gamers who need to share machines with the rest of their family.

ASUS G74SX
You know ASUS doesn't mess around when it comes to gaming, especially when you've tasted some of what ASUS's Republic Of Gamers (ROG) division has produced for hardcore gamers - the latest 17-inch ASUS G74SK This monstrous matte black gaming machine has angular, sloped edges that make it look like a stealth bomber, So stealthy that if you passed by, you wouldn't give it a second look because you would think it's disguised as a rather ho-hum (and large) notebook. Some users however, may appreciate the featureless interior because the lack of gaudy colors and lights might distract, or cause seizures just as you're about to land the winning shot. Of course, looks aren't the most important aspects of a gaming machine, But instead of the sweetness and kindness you can find in a typical geek, you'd find a pretty good NVlDIA GTX 560M with 3GB of video RAM, and dual 500GB hybrid hard disk drives with 4GB of SSD cache each.

TOSHIBA QOSMIO X770
If you're one of those gamers who've ever wished for a pet monster to help them chew through the competition, you've only got once place to look -- the Toshiba Qosmio X770. And if you pay attention, you'd notice that it's the only non-black notebook in this line-up, so kudos to Toshiba for giving us some color, especially when it looks like the blood from gamers you've vanquished in the field of battle. unfortunately for the X770, build quality is questionable as the chiclet keys that come with the machine are a little bit too mushy, and the trackpad is much too small for our liking. This would be fine on its own, until you start to pay for the machine, which cost close to $4,000 when it was first launched. And because it launched way earlier than the other notebooks in this line-up, it comes with discrete NVIDIA graphics that was the top-of-the line back in the day, but now is considered second-tier, just below what the Alienware offering sports.
